Letter-Writing Competition for young people

The Letter Writing Competition for Young People is annually promoted by UPU – Universal Postal Union, located in Bern, Switzerland. Its purpose is to develop writing abilities in youth, to help strengthen the bonds of international friendship and to improve their ability to communicate through writing. People up to age 15 who have been previously selected in the national phase are able to participate.

In Brazil, the competition has three stages: school phase, state phase and national phase. Private and public schools select two essays among the texts written by their students to represent the institutions in the competition.

At state phase, the three best texts of the state are awarded. At national phase, the best letter will represent Brazil in the international phase.
